Dear Mr. Fitzgerald,
The Planning Board met on May 8 to review and discuss the 2017 Annual Town Meeting warrant article relating to the proposed rail trail. Board members had attended the previous informational meetings regarding the project and the warrant article request.
Based on the information provided and the objectives laid out in Swampscott 2025 : the Master Plan and the 2013 Open Space & Recreation Plan, the Planning Board voted to favorably recommend approval of the warrant request and the creation of the future rail trail for our community.
The Planning Board is committed to the implementation of the Master Plan objectives and actions which includes the establishment of a rail trail in Swampscott.
